sMLX ("the App") is built privacy-first. This policy explains what data the App does and does not handle. In short: sMLX collects no personal data and runs entirely on your device.

The short version: No accounts. No tracking. No analytics. No telemetry. Your conversations are processed locally and are never sent to us or any third party.

We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of the following:

2. On-Device Processing

All model inference happens locally on your Mac using Apple MLX. Your prompts and the model's responses are processed in memory and are not persisted to disk by the App and are never transmitted off your device.

3. Local Storage

The App stores a small amount of configuration data locally on your device (for example, your selected model and interface preferences) using the standard macOS preferences system (UserDefaults). This data never leaves your Mac and is removed when you uninstall the App.

4. Network Activity

The App's only network activity is downloading model files from Hugging Face (huggingface.co) when you choose to download a model. This request is made directly from your device to Hugging Face. Your use of Hugging Face is subject to Hugging Face's privacy policy. We do not operate any servers and do not receive any information from these downloads.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
